Syntax

ATAN(value)

value – The value for which to calculate the inverse tangent.

Notes

Use the DEGREES function to convert the result of ATAN into degrees.

Tangent is periodic, therefore there are many solutions to the inverse. ATAN returns the solution between -Pi/2 and Pi/2.
