How to Use AVEDEV in Google Sheets in 2020?

AVEDEVCalculates the average of the magnitudes of deviations of data from a dataset’s mean.

Sample Usage

AVEDEV(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10)

AVEDEV(A2:A100)

Syntax

AVEDEV(value1, [value2, …])

value1 – The first value or range of the sample.

value2, … – Additional values or ranges to include in the sample.

Notes

AVEDEV will ignore any text values in value arguments.

The average deviation is the sum of the absolute values of the difference of each data point and the mean of the dataset, divided by the number of elements in the dataset.
